Update time!

I'm having problems with episode 23. I still can't decide if it'll have one or two pages and how it will goo... Besides that, I have two ideas for the future: including a Rabbid in the comic and making a long saga about Atomic Girl's last movie - that's right, there will be no Fraggin' Rabbids -. And I want to make the story about how Samus and Lobo stopped the Shevar menace... yeah, Shever are a species from Ascendancy. xDDDD

Anyway, I've updated the web with some new links and two new pics in the gallery.

I'm thinking of making a new poll about my characters, specially as Clara's popularity has been rising lately, but I prefer to wait a bit longer...

A year of madness

It's been a year since this began... OK, actually the first - Spanish - strip was posted on
January 29th
, but I didn't want to celebrate this till now... Why? Because I wanted to prepare some things before and other business before I could celebrate anything.

And I also wanted to prepare something to say for this first anniversary.

Y'know... I created this comic a year (and two days :P) ago as a way to entertain myself, inspired by Deed's and Defriki's strips, and because I wanted to draw something, as I didn't draw anything for a long while. Besides that I wanted to make some comic - and freak - strips... but never imagined it would last this long.

Madness in the Lair is proud of being one year old. It has evolved from black and white mediocre - even if it was funny - strips to more colorful panels and some of them with backgrounds... backgrounds, I say!

"Geekery" has also increased a lot. And I wanted to limit it a bit, but you see: some things get out of control.

Also this comic was good for showing new characters of mine (Yaiba & Monty), rescuing other ones I nearly forgot for years (Fëadraug and specially Clara) and focusing in a funny way on characters people already know (Sekhmet, Sacmis & Mordekaim). And for seeing this crazy guys living in the same flat with me and also certain Silent Hill monster. And if it wasn't enough, we have a weird neighborhood, with known and unknown characters and other characters I created. And cameos! Lots of cameos!

People has remarked not only its madness and weird aspects, but also the characters' relationship and the drawings' evolution. I've also received feedback as tips for improving and radical comments against me. So yeah, there's been some feedback, more than I expected - at least in the Spanish version and in the English version in Sheezy Art, since there's nearly no feedback here... Maybe the main factor for the Spanish version has been joining the WEE (Webcómics en español - Webcomics in Spanis) community, so I could know about other webcomics and, in some way, get influenced by them, but mantaining the comic's original essence that makes it so odd and special.

What will come next? First, even though I'll be studying abroad next year - dunno if it'll be in either England or Sweden -, I hope we'll have a second anniversary celebration. Second, I want to include new situations (maybe the new neighbor that will come with the casting story arc will help for that... or not :P), reducing the amount of cameos and geek facts, creating a long saga (Fraggin' Rabbids anybody?)... Well, there are lots of things in mind, but let's see how many will be done.

So there's only one thing to say now...

HAPPY FIRST ANNIVERSARY OF MADNESS!!

Incoming hiatus

Well, I'm announcing that I won't have my scanner avilable from December 22nd until the end of the Christmas holiday. I can't bring my multifunction printer to Marbella, so I'll be two weeks not being able to scan any comics nor pics. Nothing at all. Anyway, I'll try to finish and scan a little one-page Christmas comic special and at least try to finish a little pic.

Maybe the next update will be a Christmas message... even though there's so much hipocrisy during this time of the year and there's a false laicism here in Spain lately, but I'll keep wishing people around Merry Christmas even if they send me to eat shit or something worse. xD

Young and attractive single woman looks for...

Have you ever thought of living in the same block of flats like the people in The Lair? Have you ever thought of having neighbours such as Shao Kahn, Lobo, Mike the Baliflid, Deadpool and Oume? Won't you mind if your roommate is a furry like Rouge?

Then this is your chance for it!

Madness in the lair will celebrate its anniversary on January 31st - at least the Spanish version will be that old - and for that a casting session will be held for the ones interested in being Rouge the Bat's roompartner. Why does she need a roommate? Who knows...

Just send an e-mail if you're interested including the following info:

NAME/NICK

APPEARANCE (either your actual one or your alter-ego's)

INTERESTS

WHY ARE YOU INTERESTED IN LIVING IN THIS PLACE?

That's just what I ask, but if you really want a little moment of glory and seeing how I'll portray you, don't miss this chance!

Ah, you ask for the e-mail address for sending the info... Here you are:

And that's all. Deadline: January 1st 2007.

- Thanks to Rafagast for giving me this awesome idea. ;) -

PS: Finally added the English Gallery section... though the fan-arts are in Spanish. ^^U

The neighbourhood is nigh...

Something never said about "The Lair" ("Sekhmet's Lair", since she pays for it, though with Clara's and -now- Pymie's help :P) is a special apartment, more or less like two or three normal apartments together -making it quite expensive-...

And although we haven't seen their relationship with other neighbours -basically because their neighbuors avoid this crazy bunch-, "The Lair"'s inhabitants will soon meet their new neighbours living in the same floor as them.
They'll be three women (two young ones and an old scary one) and a young man. One of the girls will live by herself while the boy and the remaining girl will stay with the crazy oldie.

And who will they be? I can only say that the young man is Clara's friend, Lucas. About the female ones...

- The one living by herself comes from a manga. She's both feminine and a tomboy, and maybe I've said more than enough about her. xD

- The other girl comes from a not-so-well-known fighting game which appeared on SNK's arcade system Neo Geo. Her fighting style is both a parody of karate guys -such as Ryu and Ken- and magical girls.

- Finally, the old lady comes from a fighting game too. A scary and crazy old lady from a fighting game... who can she be? xDDDD

And it will be revealed on episode 15...

And of course, some activity around the other neighbours will be shown -as well as new scenes outside "The Lair"-, and even there'll be a neighbourhood reunion! Neighbours will be both original and non-original (from other comics and games) characters... and I even have an idea of who'll be the community's president. xD

But you'll have to wait quite a while for all this. ;P

Behind the panels

This 11th episode will be something like a FAQ, trying to answers some questions you readers may have been asking yourself as long as you've been reading this comic... or maybe you haven't asked yourself these questions, but the real purpose is, as always, filling panels and panels with madness. :P

And this episode will have some cameos of so-known (or not so-known) characters. The full list:

- Amy Rose, from Sonic the Hedgehog games (y'know, that pink female hedgehog who's in love with our blue speedster... does it ring a bell? ;P)

- Latas, robot member of the Supergroup (a Spanish superhero group created by Efepé and Jan for a couple of Superlópez comics:" El Supergrupo - The Supergroup" and "¡Todos contra uno, uno contra todos! - All against one, one against all!", maybe some of the best Spanish comics ever)

- Hatake Kakashi, from Naruto.

- Roy Mustang, from Full Metal Alchemist.

- Leona Heidern, from The King of Fighters.

- Kyoso no Oni and The Maw, both of them from The Legend of the Five Rings.

- Jotace, creator of El Blog de Jotace (in his panel, there's a picture of DC Comics' Martian Manhunter J'onn J'onzz).

- Chuck Norris.

Madness in the Lair

As I said in the original webcomic page "Las paridas de la guarida", I was thinking of submitting its English version here... and sure thing I'm doing it right now!

So even English-speakers will enjoy (?) the madness of this house called "The Lair" and its looney inhabitants.

Let the madness begin!
